Lighthouse Brewery Numbskull Imperial IPA

Lighthouse Brewery – Numbskull Imperial IPA: This is yet another Victoria brewed Imperial IPA, this one comes in at a strength of 9.1% and was enjoyed at home from a 22 oz bottle.

Aroma and Appearance: The colour is cloudy copper with three fingers of foam and some little bubbles that slowly make their way to the top. The aroma is grapefruit, citrus juice, pine, grains, floral with hints of caramel.

Flavour: A heavy caramel flavour shows itself immediately, followed by some chewy bread malt and a touch of hot booze. The finish is dry, bitter pine resin with a bit of grapefruit in the aftertaste.

Overall Impression: I like my Imperial IPA’s like this, a good punch of malt and bitterness slap that comes together and gives your taste buds a nice ride along the way.
